Basic Search
The search feature allows you to quickly find content across Streamline Feed, including news articles, business listings, and forum topics.
Initiating a Search
- Click the Search icon (🔍) located in the main header navigation at the top right of any page.
- This will open the Search Dialog.
- Type your search query (keywords, names, phrases) into the input field.
- Press Enter or click the "Search" button.
Understanding the Search Dialog
The Search Dialog provides a quick way to start your search. It includes:
- An input field for your search terms.
- Tabs ("All", "News", "Directory", "Forums") that give a preview of the content types being searched. Note: These tabs in the dialog are informational; the actual search performed when you click "Search" or press Enter covers all content types initially.
Search Results Page
After initiating the search, you will be redirected to the Search Results page (/search?q=your-query
). This page displays the findings:
- Query Display: Shows the search term you entered.
- Total Results Count: Indicates the total number of items found across all content types.
- Result Tabs: Similar to the dialog, tabs allow you to filter the results view:
- All: Shows a combined preview of results from News, Businesses, and Forums (usually limited to the top few results for each).
- News: Shows only matching news articles.
- Businesses: Shows only matching business listings.
- Forums: Shows only matching forum topics.
- Result Listings: Under each tab, the matching items are displayed in a format similar to their respective sections (e.g., article cards for News, business cards for Directory).
- "View All" Links: If more than 10 results are found for a specific type in the "All" tab, a link will appear to view the full list under the corresponding tab (e.g., "View all news results").
Clicking on any result item (e.g., an article title, business name) will take you directly to that item's page.
