Finding Businesses

The Business Directory helps you discover and connect with local businesses listed on Streamline Feed.

Accessing the Directory

You can access the main directory by clicking the "Directory" link in the main header navigation, or by visiting /directory directly.

Browsing Businesses

The directory page displays businesses in a grid format. You can browse them in a few ways:

  • All Businesses: By default, the page shows all approved business listings.
  • Filtering by Category: Above the business grid, you'll find a list of business categories (e.g., "Restaurants", "Retail", "Services"). Clicking a category name will filter the grid to show only businesses belonging to that category. The "All" tab shows businesses from every category.

Understanding Business Cards

Each business in the grid is presented as a card, providing a quick overview:

  • Image: A featured image or the business logo.
  • Category Badge: The business's primary category.
  • Name: The name of the business. Clicking the name takes you to the detailed business profile page.
  • Verified Badge: A checkmark indicates if the business listing has been verified by the platform administrators.
  • Rating: The average star rating based on user reviews, along with the total number of reviews.
  • Description: A short description of the business.
  • Location: The physical address or general location of the business.
  • Phone: The contact phone number, if provided.

Viewing Business Details

To learn more about a specific business, including reading full reviews, viewing more photos, and getting detailed contact information, click on the business name on its card. This will navigate you to the dedicated profile page for that business (e.g., /directory/business-slug).

Claiming a Business Listing

If you are the owner or an authorized representative of a business listed on Streamline Feed that you did not create, you may be able to claim it. This allows you to manage the business listing, update its details, and respond to reviews.

How to Claim a Business:

  1. Ensure you are signed in to your Streamline Feed account.
  2. Navigate to the specific business details page for the business you wish to claim.
  3. If the business is eligible for claiming and you are not listed as the current owner, you will see a "Claim This Business" button. This is typically found in the sidebar or near the business management options.
  4. Click the "Claim This Business" button. A dialog box will appear.
  5. In the dialog, you can optionally provide details to support your claim (e.g., your role in the business, contact information for verification). This information will help administrators review your request.
  6. Click the "Submit Claim" button.

After Submitting a Claim:

Your claim request will be sent to the platform administrators for review. They will verify your claim, and if approved, ownership of the business listing will be transferred to your account. You will typically be notified of the outcome.

Once a claim is approved, the business will appear under the "My Businesses" tab on your profile page, where you can manage it.

You can also use the main site Search function to find businesses.
