Exploring Places

The Places section curates restaurants, clubs, bars, and local guides across Kenya. Use it to discover verified spots, read community reviews, and share your own experiences.

Finding places

• Visit /places or follow the homepage shortcuts. Listings show 12 results per page with category and verified badges on each card.
• Search by name, description, or location, and use the location field or quick city chips (Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru) to narrow results.
• Filter by category with the chip list. You can search within categories and expand to see everything when there are many options.
• Sort results by Newest, Top rated, or Name A–Z to change the ordering of cards.

Viewing a place

• Place pages show the hero image, description, location, contact chips, website/email/phone, opening hours, map links, and ratings. Verified listings include a green badge.
• Scroll to see amenities, price range or cuisine (when provided), a photo gallery, and related businesses/places nearby.
• Use the share button or mobile action bar to open maps, call, or copy a link quickly.

Reviews

• Add a review with a required 1–5 star rating, written feedback, and an optional image upload or URL. Reviews appear once submitted and contribute to the average rating on cards.
• Existing reviews show author info, rating, text, and any attached photo so visitors can gauge quality at a glance.

Adding new places

• From your profile, use Add Place to propose a new listing. Provide a category, name, location, description, and optional contact details, website, and featured image.
• New submissions are saved with a generated slug and revalidate the Places feed once created. Admins can later verify and enrich them with additional media or amenities.
