Starting a Discussion
You can start new discussions in the forums to ask questions, share ideas, or talk about specific subjects with the community.
Accessing the New Topic Form
To start a new discussion, you must be logged in. Navigate to the main Forums page. You will find a "New Topic" button near the top right. Clicking this button will take you to the topic creation form at /forums/new.
Filling Out the Form
The new topic form includes the following fields:
- Topic Title: (Required) A clear and concise title for your discussion. It must be at least 5 characters long.
- Category: (Required) Select the most relevant forum category for your topic from the dropdown list.
- Content: (Required) The main body of your initial post. Use the rich text editor to format your text, provide details, ask your question, or explain the context for the discussion. The content must be at least 20 characters long.
Submitting the Topic
Once you have filled out all the required fields:
- Click the "Create Topic" button at the bottom right.
- If there are any validation errors (e.g., title too short), messages will appear indicating what needs to be corrected.
- Upon submission, your topic's content will undergo an automated AI content moderation check.
- If the AI flags the content as potentially violating guidelines, you will see an error message and will need to revise your content.
- If the content passes AI moderation, you will see a confirmation message, and you will be redirected back to the main Forums page.
- Your new topic should then appear in the list for the selected category. (Note: Some platforms may have an additional manual admin approval step, but currently, topics passing AI moderation are posted directly).
You can manage the topics you've created from your profile page (under the "My Discussions" tab).
