Moderating Job Postings

Job postings submitted by users or companies require review by administrators or moderators to ensure they are legitimate, appropriate, and comply with platform guidelines before going live.

Accessing the Job Moderation Queue

Pending job postings can be found in the Admin Panel under "Job Moderation" in the sidebar, or by visiting /admin/moderation/jobs.

This page lists all job postings currently awaiting approval, typically showing the job title, company name, and submission date.

Reviewing a Job Posting

Each job posting in the queue is displayed on a card with its details:

  • Job Title & Company Name: The title of the position and the name of the hiring company.
  • Description: A detailed description of the job role, responsibilities, and qualifications.
  • Location & Job Type: Where the job is located and its nature (e.g., Full-time, Part-time, Contract).
  • Category: The category assigned to the job (if applicable).
  • Application Details: How to apply (e.g., URL or email address).
  • Salary Information: If provided (currency, range, period).
  • Company Information: Website and logo, if available.
  • Submitter Information: Who submitted the job posting.
  • Current Status: Should be "pending_approval".

Moderation Actions

For each pending job posting, you have two primary actions:

  • Approve:

If the job posting is legitimate, clear, and meets all platform guidelines, click the "Approve" button. This will change the job's status to "active" (or similar) and make it visible on the public job listings.

  • Reject:

If the job posting is unsuitable (e.g., scam, discriminatory, insufficient information, violates terms), click the "Reject" button. A dialog will appear prompting you to provide a reason for rejection. This reason may be logged for internal records or (if implemented) communicated to the submitter. After confirming, the job's status will be changed to "rejected".

Important Considerations

  • Legitimacy: Try to verify the legitimacy of the company and the job offer, especially if it seems suspicious.
  • Clarity & Completeness: Ensure the job description provides enough information for potential applicants.
  • Non-Discrimination: Ensure job postings do not contain discriminatory language.
  • Spam Prevention: Be vigilant for spam or fraudulent job postings.
  • Communication: If your platform supports it, consider how users are notified about the approval or rejection of their job submissions.

Careful moderation of job postings helps maintain a trustworthy and valuable job board for your community.
