Managing Your Articles

After creating articles, you can manage them through your profile page. This includes editing content, changing status (draft/published), and deleting articles.

Accessing Your Articles

To manage your articles:

  1. Navigate to your Profile page (accessible from the user menu in the header).
  2. Click on the "My Articles" tab.

This tab displays a list of all articles you have authored, presented as cards similar to the main news feed.

Understanding Your Article List

Each article card in the "My Articles" list shows:

  • Featured Image
  • Title (linked to the public article page if published)
  • Category
  • Status Badges (e.g., "Draft", "Featured")
  • Creation Date
  • Excerpt
  • View Count (if available)
  • Management Buttons: "Edit" and "Delete"

Editing an Article

  1. Find the article you wish to edit in the "My Articles" list.
  2. Click the "Edit" button on the article card.
  3. This will take you to the Edit Article form (e.g., /news/edit/[article-id]), which is pre-filled with the article's current details.
  4. The form is identical to the Create Article form, allowing you to modify the title, excerpt, content, category, featured image, publish status, and featured status.
  5. Make your desired changes.
  6. Click the "Update Article" button at the bottom right to save your changes.
  7. You will be redirected back to the public view of the updated article.

Publishing a Draft

If you saved an article as a draft, you can publish it by:

  1. Editing the article as described above.
  2. Checking the "Publish" checkbox in the form.
  3. Clicking "Update Article".

Similarly, you can unpublish an article by editing it and unchecking the "Publish" box.

Deleting an Article

Warning: Deleting an article is permanent and cannot be undone.

  1. Find the article you wish to delete in the "My Articles" list.
  2. Click the "Delete" button on the article card.
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear asking, "Are you sure? This action cannot be undone. This will permanently delete the article...".
  4. To proceed, click the "Delete" button in the dialog. To cancel, click "Cancel".

Once confirmed and deleted, the article will be removed from the platform entirely.
