Advanced Search

Currently, the search functionality on Streamline Feed performs a basic keyword match across relevant content fields.

How Search Works

When you enter a search query:

  • The system looks for your keywords within the titles and content of news articles.
  • It searches within the names, descriptions, and locations of business listings.
  • It checks the titles and content of forum topics.

The search is case-insensitive (e.g., searching for "Nairobi" will match "nairobi"). It finds items where your keywords appear anywhere within the searched fields.

Current Limitations

At this time, the platform does not support advanced search operators or techniques such as:

  • Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT)
  • Exact phrase matching (using quotes like "exact phrase")
  • Field-specific searching (e.g., searching only within titles using title:keyword)
  • Wildcard characters

To refine your search, use specific keywords and utilize the content type tabs (News, Businesses, Forums) on the search results page.

Future updates may introduce more advanced search capabilities.
