Ndindi Nyoro (born 1985) is a Kenyan entrepreneur, investor, and politician whose story embodies resilience and ambition. Raised in Gathukeini village, Murang’a County, by small-scale farmers, he worked odd jobs—hawking groundnuts and shining shoes—to fund his education. He attended Gathukeini Primary School and Kiambugi Secondary School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Kenyatta University, where he chaired the Economics Students Association and even launched a small restaurant to support his family. Nyoro’s business career began with Stockbridge Securities, an investment firm he co-founded, and later Afrisec Telecoms, a fibre infrastructure company valued at over KSh 100 million by 2014. In 2016 he co-founded Investax Capital and went on to acquire roughly 30 million shares in Kenya Power, becoming one of the utility’s largest individual shareholders. He entered politics in 2017, winning the Kiharu parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, and secured re-election in 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). Nyoro now chairs the powerful National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, positioning him as one of the most influential voices in Kenya’s fiscal policy. A firm believer in bottom-up economic transformation, Nyoro actively champions youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. His net worth is estimated at more than KSh 300 million, built on a foundation of bold investments and relentless drive.
