Simon Kachapin Kitalei is serving his second non-consecutive term as the Governor of West Pokot County after being re-elected in 2022. He was the county's first governor from 2013 to 2017. Before his gubernatorial career, he was a long-serving educator, having worked as a teacher and a school principal.
