Martha Wangari Karua (born 22 September 1957) is a Kenyan politician, lawyer, and Senior Counsel known as the "Iron Lady" of Kenyan politics. She is the party leader of NARC-Kenya. Karua was the running mate for Raila Odinga in the 2022 presidential election. She is a former long-serving Member of Parliament for Gichugu Constituency (1992-2013) and served as Minister for Water Resources Management and Development, and later as Minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs from 2005 to 2009, when she resigned citing frustrations.
