Cecily Mutitu Mbarire is the Governor of Embu County, elected in 2022. She is a seasoned politician who has served in the National Assembly for over 20 years, both as an elected MP for Runyenjes Constituency (2007-2013) and as a nominated MP (2002-2007 and 2017-2022). She is also the Chairperson of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
