Francis Kuria Kimani (born 17 May 1985) is a Kenyan politician, certified accountant and economist who currently represents Molo Constituency in Nakuru County under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Kenyatta University and a Master’s in International Business Management from Strathmore Business School, and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. In Parliament, Kimani serves as Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, placing him at the heart of Kenya’s fiscal legislation. He led the committee’s work on the controversial Finance Bill 2023 (introduced 28 April 2023) and Finance Bill 2024, steering the bills through extensive public-participation hearings, stakeholder submissions and parliamentary debate. His role attracted considerable public scrutiny given the tax-raising measures within the bills, including proposals such as a vehicle circulation tax and increased VAT on bread, which led to heightened protests across the country.
