Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa (born 1960) is the Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, a position he has held since 2015. Known for his unflappable loyalty and low-profile technocratic competence, Majaliwa has achieved the rare feat of surviving two vastly different presidential administrations—the fiery regime of John Magufuli and the transitional era of Samia Suluhu Hassan. He was re-appointed to the post following the 2025 general elections. A former teacher and trade unionist, Majaliwa is fiercely protective of his rural political base in the Ruangwa constituency. As the Leader of Government Business in Parliament, he coordinates cabinet affairs and enforces executive directives. He is widely respected within CCM for his lack of overt presidential ambition, which has made him an indispensable, non-threatening stabilizing force in Dodoma.
