Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit, born on 12 June 1964 in Narok County, Kenya, is the Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya. Raised in a humble Maasai family as one of many children from a polygamous home, his early life was marked by hardship and resilience following his father’s death when he was five. Supported through school by World Vision sponsorship, Sapit’s formative years taught him discipline, compassion, and faith — values that later defined his ministry. He pursued theological studies at Berea Theological College and St. Paul’s University, earning a Diploma in Theology and a Bachelor of Divinity, later advancing to a Master’s in Social Development and Sustainable Livelihoods from the University of Reading in the UK. His education blended pastoral care with community development, shaping his holistic approach to leadership. Before his consecration as bishop, he served as a parish vicar, development coordinator, and project manager, roles through which he helped rural communities integrate faith with social transformation. In 2016, Ole Sapit was elected as the sixth Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya and installed at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nairobi. His leadership emphasizes spiritual renewal, integrity in governance, and social justice rooted in Christian values. A strong advocate for youth empowerment, education, and sustainable livelihoods, he continues to inspire both clergy and laity through his message of faith in action — a conviction that true worship must translate into tangible transformation in people’s lives.
