General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (born 24 April 1974) is the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) and a Senior Presidential Advisor. The son of President Yoweri Museveni, he is widely seen as the heir apparent to the presidency. He leads the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a civic organization that serves as his political vehicle. Known for his unpredictable use of social media (formerly Twitter), Muhoozi has often sparked diplomatic rows, most notably with Kenya. Despite this, he remains a central figure in Uganda's security architecture and succession politics. His supporters, the "MK Army," actively campaign for his eventual presidency, creating friction within the ruling NRM party.
