Brian Ouko Omollo, better known by his stage name Khaligraph Jones, was born on 12 June 1990 in Kayole, Nairobi. He is a Kenyan rapper famed for hits such as “Mazishi” and “Yego” and released his debut album Testimony 1990 in June 2018. Jones began his career in 2008 and won Channel O’s Emcee Africa competition in 2009, a victory that propelled him to prominence. He was crowned Best Rap Act at the 2018 AFRIMMA Awards and Best Hip Hop Artist at the 2020 AFRIMMA Awards, and received a nomination for Best International Flow at the 2020 BET Awards. Jones has continued to innovate: he partnered with Odibets in 2021 to launch the OdiNare rap challenge and released Khali Cartel 5 in 2024.
