Julius Owino (born 22 April 1984), known as Juliani, is a Kenyan gospel and conscious hip-hop artist from Dandora. He emerged with the Ukoo Flani Mau Mau collective before a solo run defined by sharp social commentary on governance and youth agency. His catalogue features the protest classic “Utawala” (single released 26 Sept 2013) and fan favourite “Exponential Potential,” alongside award recognition noted by regional music platforms. Beyond music he is a civic organiser and social entrepreneur. He founded Dandora HipHop City, a community hub with School of Rhyme and HipHop City FM, which was demolished on 27 May 2024 during Nairobi riparian clearances. He continues public advocacy through partnerships and commentary, and his personal life drew attention after his low-key wedding to Lillian Ng’ang’a on 2 Feb 2022 in Nairobi.
