Nyamari Ongegu, professionally known as Nyashinski (born 8 April 1984 in Kisii), is a Kenyan rapper and singer. He co-founded the hip-hop group Kleptomaniax at Nairobi School in the early 2000s, releasing hits such as 'Freak It' and 'Tuendelee'. The group went on hiatus in 2009. Nyashinski lived in the United States from 2006 to 2016, working as a truck driver before returning to Kenya and re-launching his music career with the 2016 hit 'Now You Know'. He has since released chart-topping singles like 'Malaika' and his debut album 'Lucky You' (2020). Known for socially conscious lyrics, he released the EPs 'Good Old Days' (2024) and 'To Whom It May Concern' (2025).
