Kevin De Bruyne (born 28 June 1991) is a Belgian professional footballer currently plays as an attacking midfielder for SSC Napoli in the Italian Serie A, having joined the club on a free transfer from Manchester City in July 2025. He is currently sidelined with a serious high-grade lesion in his right thigh sustained in October 2025. He is not expected to return to competitive action before March 2026. De Bruyne holds the record for most assists in a single Premier League season (20, shared with Thierry Henry) and reached 100 Premier League assists faster than any other player. By 2026, he began to transition into a deeper, more quarterback-like role to preserve his legs after recurring hamstring injuries in 2023/24. He has resisted lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League and MLS to finish his top-level career at City. Internationally, he is the last remaining star of Belgium's "Golden Generation," having finished third at the 2018 World Cup.
