U.S. company Easy Environmental Solutions will deploy a US$3.4 0million EasyFEN machine in Kenya to process 17,500 tonnes of organic waste into 10 million litres of organic fertiliser annually, aiming to boost soil health and reduce fertiliser costs for farmers.
Nairobi, August 15, 2025 — U.S.-based company Easy Environmental Solutions has announced plans to install a US$3.4 million EasyFEN machine in Kenya, designed to convert 17,500 tonnes of organic waste annually into more than 10 million litres of Terreplenish organic fertiliser.
Company CEO Mark Gaalswyk said the technology could generate over US$19 million in yearly revenue while providing Kenyan farmers with a cheaper and more sustainable alternative to imported chemical fertilisers. By enhancing soil health, the EasyFEN system is expected to address widespread soil degradation and declining crop productivity.
Gaalswyk said Kenya was chosen as the pilot site due to its:
High fertiliser costs burdening farmers,
Widespread soil depletion, and
Strong government push for sustainable agriculture.
The firm plans to showcase the unit in Minnesota before shipping it to Kenya within 90–120 days, with ambitions to expand into other African markets by 2027.
Kenyan officials welcomed the investment, noting that it supports the government’s circular economy strategy and long-term goal of reducing dependency on synthetic fertilisers.
✅ This rewrite balances business, agricultural, and policy angles—framing the project not just as a corporate investment but also as part of Kenya’s broader sustainability agenda.
