Suna East MP dismisses Sifuna’s theft claims, pointing fingers at Muhoho Kenyatta for the 2022 agent payment debacle.

The ghosts of the 2022 general election have returned to haunt the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), sparking a vicious civil war between two of its most vocal lieutenants.
National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has come out guns blazing to debunk allegations by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna that he squandered billions meant for party agents, instead laying the blame squarely at the feet of the Kenyatta family. The altercation threatens to tear the orange party apart from within.
The storm began when Sifuna, in a blistering attack, branded ODM MPs supporting the government as "washenzi" (fools) and demanded accountability for the 2022 presidential loss. He specifically pointed fingers at Junet for the "missing agents" fiasco. Junet’s response was swift and surgical. "The answer is simple, clear and verifiable," Junet retorted. "Former President Uhuru Kenyatta released the funds meant for election agents to his blood brother, Muhoho Kenyatta."
Junet alleges that Muhoho, operating from a private office in Westlands, appointed a mysterious IT expert named Patrick Mburu to handle the funds and the agents. "Mburu presented himself as an IT expert capable of preventing manipulation," Junet claimed, distancing himself from the operational failure that left Raila Odinga’s votes unguarded at critical polling stations.
The exchange has stunned political observers. Junet, once the ultimate insider, is now effectively accusing the party's former coalition partner of sabotage. "If you want the truth about the billions, ask the man who went to Nigeria with Kalonzo Musyoka last week," Junet added, referring to the elusive Mburu.
As the "beef" plays out on X (formerly Twitter) and in press conferences, the unity of the opposition is the biggest casualty. For the ordinary ODM supporter, the airing of dirty linen is a painful reminder of a victory that was—allegedly—sold, stolen, or simply lost in the bank accounts of the powerful.
