Education CS Magoha Provides Assurance on Smooth Transition of Grade 9 Students to Senior School

Elgeyo Marakwet, Kenya – Education Cabinet Secretary Moses Magoha provided assurances to parents and stakeholders on Friday regarding the transition of Grade 9 students to senior secondary school. He stated that the process is proceeding smoothly under a well-coordinated national placement program designed to ensure fairness and equity.

Guidance and Teacher Preparedness

Addressing graduates at the Tambach Teachers Training College, CS Magoha emphasized that comprehensive placement guidelines have been developed in close consultation with all relevant stakeholders. These guidelines are intended to ensure that no student is disadvantaged or left behind during this critical educational transition. He also highlighted the important role of career guidance teachers within schools and the active involvement of parents in helping students make informed choices about their senior school pathways and subject selections. Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary praised the first cohort of graduates from the Competency-Based Teacher Education (CBTE) program, underscoring the Ministry's ongoing efforts to equip teachers with modern pedagogical skills necessary for effective 21st-century learning environments.
