Founded in 1979 by David and Sue Brown, Brown’s Cheese Factory & Farm in Tigoni (off Limuru Road) produces award-winning, natural cheeses using traditional methods. Milk comes from the farm’s own herd and a network of small-holder suppliers, supporting local agriculture while maintaining consistent quality. The range spans ~17 varieties across cow and goat lines, made without artificial colorings or additives. Visitors book guided tours to see the make-room and ageing caves, watch a cheesemaking demo, and sample up to eight cheeses before a farm-fresh, garden-sourced lunch. Current “Visit Us” info is managed via Brown’s Food Co’s site, which also lists campus workshops and tasting options. Advance booking is required.
