Warren Edward Buffett (born 30 August 1930) is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Known as the "Oracle of Omaha," he is one of the most successful investors in history, following a philosophy of value investing and frugality. He acquired Berkshire Hathaway in 1965 and transformed it from a textile company into a massive conglomerate owning Geico, Duracell, and Dairy Queen, with significant stakes in Apple and Coca-Cola. Buffett is noted for his adherence to ethical business practices and his pledge to give away 99% of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily through the Gates Foundation.
