Peter Gregory Obi (born 19 July 1961) is a Nigerian politician and businessman who serves as the national leader of the Labour Party. He was the breakout star of the 2023 presidential election, mobilizing a massive youth movement known as the "Obidients" that challenged the traditional two-party system. A former Governor of Anambra State, he is known for his frugal management style and advocacy for cutting the cost of governance. Since the 2023 election, he has remained the most prominent voice of opposition in Nigeria, frequently criticizing the government's economic policies. In 2025, he joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition efforts to consolidate opposition ahead of the next electoral cycle.
