Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue (born 25 June 1968), known as "Teodorin," is the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea and the presumptive successor to his father, President Teodoro Obiang. He oversees defense and security. He is internationally infamous for his lavish lifestyle, including superyachts, luxury cars, and Michael Jackson memorabilia, funded by the country's oil wealth. Despite his playboy reputation, he has consolidated power within the ruling PDGE party and the military. He has faced numerous legal battles abroad regarding "ill-gotten gains," leading to the seizure of his assets in France, Switzerland, and the United States. Domestically, he portrays himself as a populist defender of the youth and a patron of music and culture.
