Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine (born 1965) is the Prime Minister of Niger, appointed by the military junta (CNSP) in August 2023. An economist by training, he previously served as Finance Minister under President Mamadou Tandja. He was also the African Development Bank's representative in Chad. His appointment was seen as a move by the junta to gain civilian technocratic credibility. He has been the face of Niger's defiant diplomacy, negotiating the withdrawal of French and US troops and strengthening ties with Russia and the Alliance of Sahel States.
