“Full Force of the Law”: President Ruto Orders Tough Crackdown on Violent Protesters
In a stern televised address, President William Ruto announced on Saturday that Kenya will launch a tough crackdown on those who attacked police and instigated violence during last week’s protests.

Nairobi, Kenya – President William Ruto has vowed to take a hard line against the individuals who attacked police officers and destroyed public property during the June 25 Gen Z protests, promising a tough and swift crackdown. In a televised address to the nation on Saturday, the President condemned the "chaotic scenes" that unfolded during the demonstrations and directed all law enforcement agencies to use every available resource to identify and prosecute those responsible. "Those who hurt our security forces and burned our police stations will face the full force of the law," he warned in a stern and uncompromising tone.
The President emphasized that peace and order are paramount for the nation’s stability and progress. He confirmed that the government is coordinating closely with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Inspector General of Police to ensure that all suspects are swiftly apprehended. The President also expressed his sympathy for the police officers who were injured in the unrest and urged the public to support law enforcement as they work to restore order. Authorities have already reported making several arrests in connection with the violence, and the President has made it clear that no perpetrator will be spared punishment in the government’s quest to re-establish the rule of law.
