Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya, spans 165 km² of rugged, arid bushland along the Ewaso Ngiro River. Renowned for its unique wildlife, the reserve is home to the ‘Samburu Special Five’—Grevys zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, beisa oryx, and gerenuk—species found only in this dryland region. Its dramatic landscape of acacia-dotted plains and the life-sustaining river also support elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and a rich variety of birdlife. With its striking scenery and rare fauna, Samburu offers a safari experience unlike the more verdant parks of southern Kenya
