Lake Bogoria National Reserve

Lake Bogoria National Reserve, covering 107 square kilometers in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, protects a saline, alkaline lake set against the backdrop of steep escarpments and semi-arid bushlands. Known for its geothermal wonders and spectacular birdlife, the reserve offers one of the most striking landscapes in East Africa. The lake’s western shore is lined with over 200 hot springs, fumaroles, and geysers that erupt up to five meters high, sending plumes of steam into the air.
