Founded in 1992 by artists Rahab and Shine Tani, Banana Hill Art Gallery stands among Kenya’s pioneering contemporary art spaces and a cornerstone of East Africa’s visual arts movement. Located in Banana Hill, just outside Nairobi, the gallery was established with a mission to provide a platform for both emerging and established artists from across the region—offering exposure, mentorship, and access to global audiences. Over the past three decades, Banana Hill Art Gallery has hosted hundreds of exhibitions, featuring painting, sculpture, and mixed-media works that explore African identity, social change, and creative innovation. It represents over 70 artists from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and beyond, serving as both a cultural hub and incubator for artistic dialogue.
