Zitto Zuberi Kabwe (born 1976) is a Tanzanian politician, economist, and the Party Leader of ACT-Wazalendo. One of the most intellectually gifted and charismatic politicians of his generation, Kabwe rose to national fame in his late 20s as a fearless anti-corruption crusader, famously exposing the Buzwagi gold mine scandal in 2007 which led to his temporary suspension from Parliament. After a bitter fallout with CHADEMA leadership in 2015, he formed ACT-Wazalendo, positioning it as a left-leaning, pan-Africanist alternative. Under his leadership, the party gained a massive foothold in Zanzibar. During the turbulent 2025 election cycle, with CHADEMA barred from the ballot, Kabwe attempted to consolidate the fractured opposition vote but faced severe state repression and systemic electoral fraud, solidifying his status as a persistent thorn in the flesh of the CCM establishment.
