Sarah Paulata Korere is the Member of Parliament for Laikipia North, serving her second term. She is the first female MP for the constituency, having defeated the controversial Mathew Lempurkel in 2017 and again in 2022. She is a trailblazer for Maasai women in leadership. Korere is known for her toughness in dealing with insecurity and cattle rustling in the volatile Laikipia region. She famously stood her ground during a physical assault by her predecessor in 2016.
