Dr. Rachael Kaki Nyamai is the Member of Parliament for Kitui South, currently serving her third consecutive term, having first been elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2017 and 2022. Over more than a decade in Parliament, she has established herself as one of the most experienced legislators from Kitui County, known for consistency, institutional memory, and a focus on governance and land justice—issues of deep relevance to her semi-arid constituency. In the National Assembly, Dr. Nyamai previously served as the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Lands, one of Parliament’s most sensitive and influential committees given Kenya’s long-standing land disputes.
