Paul Kagame (born 23 October 1957) is the President of Rwanda, serving since 2000. A former military leader, he commanded the rebel force (RPF) that ended the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. He is credited with Rwanda's remarkable economic recovery, stability, and technological advancement, transforming it into one of Africa's cleanest and most business-friendly nations. However, he faces persistent criticism for authoritarianism and involvement in conflicts in the neighboring DRC.
