Nelson Chamisa (born 2 February 1978) is a Zimbabwean lawyer and politician. He is the preeminent opposition leader in Zimbabwe, having led the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) before quitting the party in January 2024 citing infiltration by the ruling ZANU-PF. He returned to the political arena in late 2025 with a new movement aimed at challenging President Mnangagwa's extended tenure. A charismatic orator and former student leader, Chamisa served as the youngest cabinet minister in the 2009-2013 Government of National Unity. He disputed the results of both the 2018 and 2023 presidential elections, claiming systematic fraud.
