In Parliament, Dr. Gogo has become known for combining a strong grassroots presence with a technocratic approach to policy, especially in education, agriculture and nutrition. She has served on influential committees such as Defence & Foreign Relations and Parliamentary Broadcasting & Library, while being repeatedly recognised by civic watchdogs as a top-performing legislator, including being named Homa Bay’s top-performing MP (2020–2022) and Kenya’s Best Female MP in 2022. Her development agenda in Rangwe emphasises bursaries, expansion of school infrastructure, water and road projects, and farmer-focused programmes that link her food-safety expertise to practical improvements in agricultural value chains and household nutrition. Beyond constituency work, she is a visible advocate for science-led policymaking and for the empowerment of rural women and girls, frequently citing her own journey—from rural Alego Usonga to PhD holder and re-elected MP—as a demonstration of the transformative power of education.
