Kevan Parekh is an American business executive who currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Apple Inc. A long-tenured leader within the company, he assumed the CFO position on January 1, 2025, succeeding Luca Maestri. His appointment marked a significant leadership transition for one of the world's most valuable technology companies, following a decade of financial stewardship under his predecessor. Born in 1972, Parekh is a first-generation Indian American. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1993. Following his undergraduate education, he went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2000, where he focused on finance and strategic management. Parekh’s professional career began prior to his tenure at Apple, with extensive experience in global finance and corporate development. He held significant leadership positions at General Motors, where he worked for over five years, including serving as a Director of Business Development in the company’s New York office. He later transitioned to Thomson Reuters, where he spent more than four years in various roles, including Vice President of Finance and Corporate Treasurer. His work at these organizations provided him with significant exposure to international operations across Europe and Asia, laying the groundwork for his future financial leadership. Parekh joined Apple in 2013, beginning a more than decade-long tenure that saw him rise through the ranks of the company’s finance organization. During his early years at Apple, he provided financial leadership for key divisions, including Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering. He subsequently served as the Vice President of Worldwide Finance, where he oversaw financial support for a broad range of business functions, including Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing. Prior to his promotion to CFO, Parekh served as the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. In this capacity, he played an integral role in shaping Apple’s financial strategies by overseeing financial forecasting, investor relations, and market research, while working closely with CEO Tim Cook and the broader executive leadership team. In August 2024, Apple announced that Parekh would succeed Luca Maestri as the company's next CFO. The transition was part of a planned succession, with Maestri remaining with the company to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. Upon assuming the role in January 2025, Parekh joined Apple's executive team and assumed responsibility for the company's global accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations, internal audit, and tax functions. Known for his financial acumen and deep operational knowledge of Apple, Parekh is widely regarded as a strategic leader. His career is characterized by a transition from a technical engineering background to a sophisticated role in corporate finance, enabling him to bridge the gap between product development and fiscal strategy. As CFO, he is tasked with guiding Apple's financial operations amid a competitive landscape, focusing on maintaining the company’s long-term financial health and growth trajectory.
