Joyce Kamene Kasimbi (born 15 June 1978) is a Kenyan politician and two-term County Woman Representative for Machakos, elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 on a Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K) ticket.In the National Assembly she has served on key committees including Agriculture & Livestock and Special Funds, and has been active in oversight and debate around the Finance Bill 2024, where she publicly opposed tax measures she argued would overburden ordinary Kenyans and undermine counties like Machakos. Her agenda as Woman Representative centres on women’s economic empowerment, youth skills training, bursaries, and improving access to vocational education and social protection for vulnerable households across the county. Kamene’s advocacy is grounded in a long career in administration and public service. Parliamentary and media records show that after completing secondary school at Visa Oshwal Girls, she undertook professional training in accounting and languages, earning an Accountants Clerk National Certificate at Universal College and an Advanced Certificate in French from Alliance Française Nairobi, before later returning to university for a Diploma in Philosophy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Nairobi. She previously worked as a clerk at the Ministry of Information and Communication and in other clerical and administrative roles, experience that informs her focus on grassroots service delivery, transparent communication and bringing national opportunities—such as government funds, training programmes and scholarships—closer to women and youth in Machakos County.
