Biography

Dr. Irungu Kang'ata is the Governor of Murang'a County, elected in 2022. A lawyer by profession, he holds a PhD in Law from the University of Nairobi. His political career includes serving as Senator for Murang'a (2017-2022), where he was also the Senate Majority Chief Whip, and as Member of Parliament for Kiharu Constituency (2013-2017).
