Beryl Lillian Achieng Okumu Odinga (c. 1947 – 25 November 2025) was a Kenyan lawyer, public administrator, and the younger sister of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. A trailblazer in her own right, she lived a life marked by resilience and professional distinction across two countries. In the 1980s, fleeing an abusive marriage to MP Otieno Ambala and political persecution in Kenya, she escaped to Zimbabwe using a Ugandan passport. There, she made history as the first black female Town Clerk of Mutare, Zimbabwe's third-largest city. She returned to Kenya after the political climate improved and took on significant roles in public service. She served as the Chairperson of the Kenya Railways Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme (2008–2012) and later as the Chairperson of the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (appointed 2020). She passed away in November 2025, just over a month after the death of her brother Raila Odinga.
