Antoine Griezmann (born 21 March 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder for Atlético Madrid. One of the most intelligent and versatile players of the modern era, he was the architect of France's 2018 World Cup victory. In a shock announcement, he retired from international football in October 2024, ending his France career with 137 caps and a record of playing 84 consecutive matches for Les Bleus. At club level, Griezmann became Atlético Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer in 2024, surpassing Luis Aragonés. After a difficult spell at Barcelona, his return to Atletico saw him reclaim his status as arguably the best player in La Liga (outside of Madrid's stars). By 2026, he was preparing for a final career move to MLS (specifically LAFC), a dream he had long publicized.
