Abdulkadir Mohamed Haji is the Senator for Garissa County, having first been elected in a 2021 by-election and re-elected in 2022. He is a businessman and gained national recognition for his heroic actions during the 2013 Westgate mall attack. He is the son of former long-serving Cabinet Minister Yusuf Haji.
