Rigathi Gachagua alleges that the demolition of Governor Wamatangi’s business was a political hit orchestrated at a secret Sagana meeting to punish independent Mt. Kenya leaders.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has poured gasoline on the fire consuming Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi. In a startling allegation, Gachagua claims the recent demolition of Wamatangi’s business empire was not a routine enforcement of city by-laws, but the execution of a political hit ordered during a secret meeting at the Sagana State Lodge.
Speaking to supporters in Mathira, Gachagua alleged that a faction of Mt. Kenya "traitors" met with high-ranking government officials last month to plot the systematic dismantling of leaders perceived to be sympathetic to his cause. "They sat in Sagana and decided who to finish," Gachagua roared. "They said Wamatangi is too independent, so they sent the bulldozers. Tomorrow, they will send the taxman to someone else."
The former DP’s claims link the governor’s woes directly to the internecine wars for the region’s kingpinship. Wamatangi, who has been visibly absent from recent state functions, is seen as collateral damage in the proxy war between Gachagua and President Ruto’s new point men in the region.
As the dust settles on Wamatangi’s flattened garage, the political debris is only beginning to fly.
