Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya launches the "Tawe Movement," demanding respect for the Luyha community and threatening a political revolution against established regional kingpins.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has issued a blistering ultimatum to the political establishment: The era of the "Luyha Swing Vote" is over. Launching his "Tawe Movement" grassroots drive, Natembeya declared that the Mulembe nation will field its own presidential candidate in 2027 if it is not treated as an equal partner.
Natembeya’s rhetoric targets both the government and the opposition. He accused Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Speaker Moses Wetang’ula of being "shareholders with no dividends," delivering votes to Kenya Kwanza but receiving little in return for the region.
"They come here every five years, eat our chicken, and leave us with nothing," Natembeya told a charged crowd in Kitale. "In 2027, the bride will not be for sale."
Natembeya is positioning himself as the heir apparent to the region’s leadership. By attacking the established gatekeepers, he is gambling that the Luyha electorate is ready for a revolution. The drums are beating in the West, and the rhythm is changing.
