President William Ruto appointed Christopher Doye Nakuleu, former Turkana North MP and Assembly Speaker, as his new Senior Political Advisor, a move praised for Nakuleu's extensive political experience.
Nairobi, Kenya — President William Ruto has appointed Christopher Doye Nakuleu, the former Member of Parliament for Turkana North and ex-Speaker of the Turkana County Assembly, as a Senior Political Advisor. The appointment, made public on May 22, broadens the President’s inner advisory circle as his administration deepens political engagement across regions.
East African Community (EAC) Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe welcomed the announcement, praising Nakuleu’s extensive experience in both legislative and regional affairs. She highlighted his prior roles, including two consecutive terms in the National Assembly (2013–2022) and an earlier stint as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) from 2007 to 2012.
“Christopher Nakuleu brings a wealth of political insight and cross-border legislative experience,” said CS Moe. “His appointment is a fitting acknowledgment of his longstanding contributions to public service.”
The new role marks Nakuleu’s return to national prominence just three months after his resignation from the Speaker’s post in Turkana County Assembly, which followed a motion of misconduct. Despite the controversy, Nakuleu’s political career remains influential, particularly in the northern frontier regions.
He now joins a growing team of more than 20 senior advisors supporting President Ruto on strategic policy and political matters as the administration navigates both domestic reforms and regional partnerships.
