The Kenya Meteorological Department says Nairobi and other highland counties will see cloudy mornings and occasional showers over the next few days, with temperatures ranging between 6 °C and 30 °C, while the coast and Lake Victoria Basin face strong winds and thunderstorms.

Nairobi, Kenya — 2025-09-19 15:00 EAT. Residents in Nairobi and several counties should brace for cloudy mornings, intermittent showers and strong winds over the next four days, according to a new Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) forecast.
Dates: September 19–22, 2025
Areas Affected: Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley, Nairobi, Coast, Lake Victoria Basin, northern and north-eastern counties.
Conditions: Overcast mornings, sunshine breaks, showers in western and Lake Victoria regions, strong coastal winds.
Nairobi & Central Highlands: Cloudy mornings, sunny afternoons, night temperatures as low as 6°C, daytime highs around 30°C
Western Highlands & Lake Victoria Basin: Morning rains, afternoon thunderstorms, highs up to 31°C〕.
Turkana & Samburu: Mostly sunny, isolated showers expected Monday, highs of 36–37°C.
North-Eastern Counties (Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo): Hot and dry, maximum 38°C, chance of scattered showers later in the week.
Coast (Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale): Strong southerly/southeasterly winds above 25 knots, partly cloudy nights, highs near 32°C〕.
