Junet Mohamed urges ODM supporters to strengthen grassroots structures, warning that a weak party base invites defeat in the face of UDA’s aggressive expansion.

National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has issued a marching order to ODM supporters: rebuild the grassroots networks now or face irrelevance in 2027.
Speaking in Migori, Junet emphasized that a political party is only as strong as its branches. He called for aggressive recruitment drives and the activation of youth leagues. His speech is seen as a direct response to the "UDA wave" that swept parts of Nyanza in the last election.
"We cannot sleep while the enemy is planting in our garden," Junet said metaphorically. With internal rifts threatening to tear the party apart (referencing the Winnie Odinga saga), Junet is positioning himself as the stabilizer, the man focused on the mechanics of winning while others focus on the noise. It is a back-to-basics approach for the Orange party.
