IBM has announced a strategic expansion of its partnership with Oracle, bringing its watsonx AI platform to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) starting July 2025. The collaboration will debut with watsonx Orchestrate, IBM’s AI agent service, becoming natively available on OCI.
This integration allows enterprises to deploy AI-driven workflows and intelligent agents directly within their Oracle environments, aligning seamlessly with existing databases and applications.
According to Greg Pavlik, an IBM executive, this joint effort will allow businesses to automate complex operational tasks, such as enterprise planning, by embedding AI-powered decision-making and process orchestration into Oracle-based systems.
The move is designed to accelerate AI adoption for companies already using Oracle’s cloud, making it easier to incorporate IBM’s advanced AI tooling without migrating infrastructure—thus boosting productivity, efficiency, and innovation across industries.
