John Kiragu Chege is a Kenyan politician and engineer currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Limuru Constituency under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He studied at Nyandarua High School (O-levels, 1969–1972) and Mombasa Polytechnic (A-levels, 1973–1974) before earning a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi (1975–1978). He later obtained an M.Sc. in Metallurgical Processes Management from the University of Sheffield, UK (1985–1986). Before entering politics, Chege built a career as a Quality Inspector at the Athi Water Works Development Agency, specializing in infrastructure quality assurance and the use of nuclear energy technologies for inspection and project evaluation. Elected to Parliament in 2013 under TNA/Jubilee and re-elected in 2022 on a UDA ticket, Chege has consistently focused on oversight, development, and policy formulation in key sectors including education, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
